Year 9 & Year 10

The year 9 and year 10 are a friendly group of girls, some of who have been with the club since it began over four years ago.  Although they like to come along and spend time with their friends each week they are focussed on their netball and are always looking to improve their game.

As well as playing netball themselves the girls are also encouraged to help out with younger members of the club at their training sessions, umpiring and assisting with the running of tournaments.

The Y9 team are competing in the St Albans League and the match reports are as follows:

November 13th

The team played a storming game!  They put all their recent work in training into practice by dodging and passing as well as I have seen. Their movement and positioning on the court was very good and this reflected in the number of interceptions made by the defence and the confidence of the attack in getting the ball to the shooters. After creating a small lead in the first half, Dacorum reacted by drawing level and then went ahead. In a close final quarter, Storm pulled to level again, but went down in the final minutes, losing a centre that Dacorum capitalised on by scoring a goal. The final whistle went before Storm could once again draw level and the final score was 16 – 19 to Dacorum. The Storm girls said how much they enjoyed the match as they all felt they played well as a team. Aoife Lawrence was player of the match for her constant efforts as goal keeper and great interceptions.
